HAPPY NEW YEAR – WELCOME TO 2021
This year I am choosing to work with a tarot deck that I treated myself to a couple of months ago, called Wizards Tarot by Corrine Kenner and illustrated by John J. Blumen, sadly now out of print. I will be using this deck for every card of the month for 2021.
On to this month of January. I chuckled and said a big YAY out loud when I pulled the Fool (‘The Initiate’ as named in this deck) What a wonderful card to start off for this year.… especially after last year (the one that shall not be spoken.)
The Fool is card number zero in the Major Arcana. The symbol of the ‘0’ has no beginning or end. It is ‘all and nothing’ at the same time… how special is that? The Fool is starting a journey through the trials and tribulations that each of the Major Arcana cards presents. This month is all about the ‘new.’ New concepts, beginnings, and ideas. It is those feelings whereby you initiate something, not knowing quite what you will encounter, but trust in the process with the knowledge that the Universe will support and guide you, no matter what comes along.
This month take a leap of faith into the unknown. What are you waiting for? Sometimes we stagnate too long and miss an opportunity to experience an amazing journey. What could go wrong? Anything and nothing. What have you got to lose? Think back at a time in your life where you stepped out with no experience, felt carefree, and a little naïve yet went for it anyway. Perhaps when you left home, or like me, moved to another country to be with my then-boyfriend, becoming an automatic stepmom without the guarantee of a long-term relationship. I didn’t fully know what I was letting myself in for. Ten years on, we are still together! I am so glad I just went for it!
What do you want to do? Finish a relationship that you have outgrown? Change jobs? Begin a business? Start a family? Move out of your parent’s home or to another town? It doesn’t matter what you want to do. This month make a decision and just do it. Enjoy the journey, allow the experiences to happen. You don’t want to look back and say, ‘I wish I had…..’
